I really love the process of making risotto also, but most don't want to take the time to stand over the stove and stir. However, I do have to say the thing that bothers me about traditional risotto is using white rice. I try to avoid white rice whenever possible. As you. (Nutrition information is calculated using an ingredient database and should be considered an estimate.) Risotto is a traditional Italian rice dish made from a short-grained, starchy variety of rice called Arborio rice. A properly cooked risotto should form a soft, creamy mound on a dinner plate. Risotto also has a reputation for being fussy and time-consuming.

How to Improve Your Mood with Food

Mostly, people have been conditioned to believe that “comfort” foods are terrible for the body and have to be avoided. Sometimes, if your comfort food is a sugary food or another junk food, this is very true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be totally nourishing and it’s good for you to consume them. There are some foods that basically can raise your moods when you consume them. When you are feeling a little down and need an emotional pick-me-up, test out a couple of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be really great at dealing with depression. Just make sure that you do not throw away the egg yolk. When you would like to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most important part of the egg. Eggs, the egg yolk especially, are stuffed full of B vitamins. These B vitamins are terrific for helping to improve your mood. This is because they help improve the function of your neural transmitters, the parts of your brain that dictate your mood. Try eating a few eggs to feel better!

Put together a trail mixfrom different seeds and nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and so on are all great for improving your mood. This is because seeds and nuts have a lot of magnesium which increases your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is known as the “feel good” chemical and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The higher your serotonin levels, the happier you will feel. Not just that, nuts, in particular, are a fantastic source of protein.

Cold water fish are good if you want to feel happier. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are rich in DHA and omega-3s. These are two things that truly help the grey matter in your brain run a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly boost your mood.

Grains can be great for fighting a bad mood. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really great for helping raise your happiness levels. These grains fill you up better and that can help elevate your moods as well. It’s easy to feel low when you feel famished! The reason these grains are so great for your mood is that they are easy for your body to digest and process. You digest these grains quicker than other foods which can help promote your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel better, mood wise.

Green tea is actually good for your mood. You knew it had to be mentioned in this article, right? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can essentially induce brain waves. This helps better your mental sharpness while having a relaxing effect on the rest of your body. You probably already knew it is not hard to get healthy when you consume green tea. Now you are aware that green tea can help improve your mood also!

As you can see, you don’t need to consume all that junk food when you wish to feel better! Try some of these instead!
