Instructions to make Mike's Sunday Omelet & Fresh Fruit Bar:
- Cut up all of your fruits into individual serving sizes and refrigerate. Also chop up all of your leftover vegetables.
- Mix eggs, milk and seasonings in as many separate bowls as you have guests. Have your guests add whatever fillers they desire to their egg mixture. Mix and cook their omelets as you typically would any other omelet.
- TO COOK: Pour the 4 egg mixture [with fillers] in a non stick pan on medium heat. Use more than one pan if you have it. Cook until omelet is bubbling and slightly hardened on the top. Ask guests if they want extra cheese and add it before you flip one side over the other to create a half circle. Serve with coffee, tea, salsas, hot sauces and fresh fruits.

Most of us have been trained to believe that comfort foods are terrible and are to be avoided. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this might be true. Other times, comfort foods can be perfectly healthy and good for us to consume. A number of foods honestly do raise your mood when you eat them. If you feel a little bit down and you need a happiness pick me up, try a few of these.
Eggs, would you believe, are terrific for helping you battle depression. Just be sure that you don’t toss out the yolk. The egg yolk is the part of the egg that is the most important in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, especially the yolks, are loaded with B vitamins. B vitamins can be fantastic for boosting your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that control your mood. Consume an egg and be happy!
Make a trail mixfrom different seeds and nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all wonderful for elevating your mood. This is because these foods are loaded with magnesium, which helps to increase your production of serotonin. Serotonin is known as the “feel good” chemical substance and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more of it you have, the more pleasant you are going to feel. Nuts, along with bettering your mood, can be a great protein source.
Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you wish to battle depression. Tuna, trout, mackerel, herring and wild salmon are all full of omega-3 fats and DHA. These are two substances that promote the quality and function of the gray matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can basically help you overcome depression.
It’s easy to fight your bad mood when you are eating grains. Millet, quinoa, barley, etc are terrific at helping you be happier. They fill you up better and that can help improve your moods also. Feeling famished can be awful! The reason these grains are so wonderful for your mood is that they are not hard to digest. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.
