A number of foods really do improve your mood when you eat them. If you are feeling a little bit down and need a happiness pick me up, try a couple of these.
Eggs, believe it or not, can be truly terrific at fighting back depression. You need to make sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The yolk is the most essential part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping raise your mood. Eggs, especially the yolks, are full of B vitamins. B vitamins can be great for raising your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the parts of your brain that affect your mood. Eat an egg and be happy!
Make a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etc are all terrific for helping to elevate your mood. This is possible because these foods are high in magnesium which promotes your production of serotonin. Not just that, nuts, particularly, are a fantastic protein food source.
If you wish to fight depression, you should eat some cold water fish. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fats. These are two things that really help the grey matter in your brain work a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can greatly raise your mood.
Grains can be great for overcoming a bad mood. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all truly great for helping increase your happiness levels. These grains fill you up better and that can help elevate your moods too. It’s not difficult to feel depressed when you feel hungry! These grains can improve your mood since it’s easy for your body to digest them. You digest these foods faster than other foods which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel more pleasant, mood wise.
Green tea is actually good for your mood. You were sure it had to be mentioned in this article, right? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid known as L-theanine. Research has proved that this amino acid promotes the production of brain waves. This will improve your brain’s concentration while at the same loosening up the rest of your body.
